Policy Papers on Albania’s 2021 Elections and Civic Participation Published

We are happy to announce the publication of three policy papers on elections and civic participation in Albania, prepared within our project ‘’I participate! My voice, my vote counts’’

This project is funded by the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) and implemented by Civil Rights Defenders in partnership with Albanian Helsinki Committee and Institute for Political Studies. This project aims to strengthen civil society’s capacity to promote, advocate and support democratic processes, integrity of elections and political transparency, in the light of Albania’s Parliamentary Elections set to take place on April 25, 2021.

The policy papers can be read below:

• The legal framework on means of citizens’ participation in decision-making processes in Albania

• The impact of COVID-19 pandemic on human rights, civic engagement, consultation, and democratic processes with a focus on media and civil society in Albania

• Involvement of Albanian citizens in political processes, with a focus on the electoral process and the effective exercise of democratic rights
