Launch of new platform to support global fight against impunity
Today is the annual EU Day Against Impunity for Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes. To mark the occasion, we are co-launching a new digital platform, MakingJusticeWork.org. The platform contains more than 400 resources for civil society, lawyers and survivors to use in the fight for global justice and accountability. MakingJusticeWork.org is part of the Global Initiative Against Impunity.
Sometimes, those who document violations and push for accountability are unable to access critical resources, especially in conflict-affected environments. Even when resources are available, they’re not always secure, inclusive, or easily translated into action.
That is why we are now co-launching MakingJusticeWork.org, a digital platform for all those engaged in the fight for international justice – from civil society and survivor networks to legal professionals and journalists. The goal is to strengthen cases, amplify survivors’ voices, shape policy, and influence justice processes.
Useful resources and events calendar
At the heart of MakingJusticeWork.org is a user-friendly resource library with more than 400 briefs, thematic reports, practical guides for survivors, amicus submissions, practice notes, summaries of relevant case law and legal precedents, as well as communication materials like joint statements, press releases, and advocacy tools. There’s also an interactive events calendar that highlights key international justice events like ICC hearings, UN sessions, and civil society actions.

About the Global Initiative Against Impunity
The Global Initiative Against Impunity for International Crimes and Serious Human Rights Violations (GIAI) is a consortium of nine international NGOs, including Civil Rights Defenders. Co-funded by the European Union, GIAI aims to contribute to the fight against impunity. One of the ways the consortium will be doing so is through MakingJusticeWork.org.
GIAI’s other members are the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC), the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), Impunity Watch, the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA), Redress, TRIAL International, and Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice.
