The Emergency Fund – supporting human rights defenders at risk

Our Emergency Fund provides rapid assistance to human rights defenders who are in danger. The goal is to improve their security situation so they feel safe to continue their work. The fund can, for example, provide legal aid or temporarily relocate people, as well as offer security trainings and help with physical and digital security solutions.

In 2023, 1,351 human rights defenders from 39 countries received emergency support.
